Gingerbread Stories

Over the past week we have read many different versions of the story of the Gingerbread Man. The students have used puppets to retell the story. We have compared and contrasted the different stories and songs. We still have a few more versions to read next week. Here are some of the stories we read so far. Talk with your child about their favourite story or favourite Gingerbread character.

Celebrations

We are learning how other families in our community celebrate various holidays. This week is Hanukkah and we have been reading stories and learning about traditions. The students like spinning tops and were happy to learn about the dreidel. You may wish to talk with your child about family traditions and how some things are the same and some are different from other families. We have noticed that many celebrations involve family, food lights and gifts.
